The Game Critics Awards, which compiles rankings from 29 of the most well-known media outlets, has announced the Best of E3 2009 winners.

When nominations for the Game Critics Awards "Best of E3" were announced, Tim Schafer's Brutal Legend and Naughty Dog's Uncharted 2: Among Thieves were neck and neck with four nominations apiece. Looks like it's the year of Nathan Drake (or at least the E3 year of Nathan Drake), as Uncharted 2 walked away with three awards, including "Best of Show", while Brutal Legend was left empty handed.
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves not only won the coveted "Best of Show" award, but also nabbed "Best Console Game" and "Best Action/Adventure Game" beating out the likes of God of War III. I'm sure Kratos won't be too happy about that one.
Scribblenauts was also a big winner, taking away two awards from the "Best Original Game" and "Best Handheld Game" categories. Looks like the inventive charm of the little DS title was enough to put it over such big titles as Brutal Legend, Heavy Rain, Alan Wake, and Bayonetta.

THE VERDICT by Sports LegendsNo awards love for Brutal Legend. Oh well, there's always Game of the Year Awards and the "Yay, I love Tim Shafer and Jack Black Awards" too, which I just invented in my head. Stiff competition in that one.
