Latest version of Lumines getting a release just before Christmas.
Sony has announced that Lumines Supernova, the latest version of Q Entertainment's visually eclectic puzzle game for the PlayStation 3, will be released over the PlayStation Network next Tuesday, December 23. It'll be priced at $14.99.
For those who've already played the game to death on another platform, the main draw here is a few new skins (including the Little Big Planet skin created in conjunction with Media Molecule), and the new Sequencer mode that allows you to create your own background music. There's also a new "Dig Down Mode," where you start with a field already filled with blocks, and use falling blocks to clear them and dig your way to the bottom of the screen.
Other than that, this is basically the same great Lumines -- there's a Challenge mode (with a total of 40 different skins), Time Attack, Puzzle/Mission mode, 2-Player Battle, and Trophies support. As a last bonus, along with the release of the game, Q will also be offering a free limited edition batch of 20 holiday-themed skins, with musical styles that'll include "heavy metal, U.K. rock, gabber tracks -- the pack features a little something for everyone!" There's no mention of how limited this limited time offer will be, so better make sure and grab it while you can.
