The pack containing the game, mic, drums, and guitar is now cheaper than ever for select consoles.
Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour may be hogging the rhythm game spotlight this holiday season, but there are still plenty of copies of the first Rock Band floating around out there. In an effort to sweeten the deal and move more copies of last year's game, EA has dropped the price of the special edition bundle of the original Rock Band to an especially reasonable $99.99 -- down $50 from its initial cost of $159.99.
Price drop aside, it should be noted that the PS2 and Wii versions are both missing much of what made the game so awesome in the first place. Downloadable content isn't an option for these consoles, and neither are the World Tour mode and custom characters. You're getting a significantly stripped-down version of Rock Band here, but if the Wii and PS2 are the only consoles you have handy, then it just might be worth the 100 bones. Plus, the slightly inferior instruments included with the bundle will still work with Rock Band 2, should you choose to upgrade somewhere down the line.
