Well, can you think of any better way to celebrate than with polar bears?
Pop open the champagne, hopeless WoW addicts: Blizzard is celebrating their fourth year of global domination. Four years ago today -- November 23, 2004 -- World of Warcraft was released to the unsuspecting masses. And to celebrate, Blizzard is giving all WoW players who login today their own baby polar bear vanity pet (via Kotaku). Because as everyone knows, the fourth anniversary is the "baby polar bear" year.
Actually, we have no idea why they decided to celebrate with baby polar bears. Some sort of odd yet meaningful symbolism for Blizzard? Trying to psyche out Stephen Colbert for no particular reason? Whatever -- we just know it's cute as hell, which seems as good a reason as any. The bear is bound to your account, meaning you only get one, but you can pass it along to any other characters you own or create. It also comes along with the "WoW's 4th Anniversary" achievement, which you unlock immediately upon first starting the game today. Enjoy!
